SALT DOUGH CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS!

Today we had lots of fun with Salt dough. I made up a big batch, split it in to 3 balls and added some food colouring to each ball. I then let the children loose with a knife, rolling pin and Christmas cutters with a gentle suggestion that we made Christmas tree decorations to hang on the tree.


We ended up with lots of strange things! Some decorations for the tree made by E, an interesting Santa 3D thing that Brendan made (hoping the 3D aspect does not cause a problem for cooking) and Kenzies interesting spotty thing that was going to be a Robin!

Lots of fun, and some new decorations to boot!

If you fancy giving this ago, the recipe is

1cup salt
1 cup water
2 cups flour

Mix together and kneed till it is not sticky anymore. Add more flour bit by bit if needed. separate in to different balls and add food colouring till your desired colour is achieved (you may need more flour at this stage)
Enjoy and play!!
Pop on a baking tray and cook for 2.5 hours in an oven at 100 degrees
