THANKSGIVING WEEK!

We have had a lovely week enjoying tea parties with Teddies!

Making Autumn playdough creations! These included lots of lovely sensory experiences. Different textures, colours and we even added cloves and cinnamon sticks for a seasonal smell!

We looked at Thanksgiving and the children used real vegetables in the home corner to make their own Thanksgiving dinners!

Some of us enjoyed feeding our creations to the dog!

We worked on our latches board! This could back fire when they all start escaping from the house. Little "R"  can already un lock my front door so I have had to remove my keys from the lock!

Little "L" pealed sprouts! She found this really absorbing. Very soon I had little green leaves all over the playroom!

Little "R" joined in too.

Carrot batons do not peal very well!

After school, Brendan made little Christmas figures with our new art set!

We played with our Thanksgiving play set. Not entirely true to history but we did the best we could with what we had!

Little "R" practised sharpening pencils!

Little "X" made an Autumn tree!

Little "R" made a hat for the Hedgehog......

....and a nappy!

We have had a really lovely week. We rounded it all off on Thursday with our own Thanksgiving dinner together. Kenzie said he was thankful for Skylanders and Brendan said he was thankful for all the things that his Daddy I and I do for them and provide for them (which I was very touched by). Little "E" was thankful for her toy Bat! About half an hour later we had a big power cut and I thought maybe one of us should have been more thankful for Electricity!

We all huddled with torches and the boys used their laptop to watch a film with the little ones so that they didn't get scared of the dark!

One more week of Autumn activities and then we start our winter and Christmas fun! I can not wait!

TEDDY BEARS PICNIC!

Kenzie informed me it was Blanket Bears birthday. He wanted to make him a cake with 4 candles because he is 4!
We decided to have a party and asked the other children to bring their bears! I said I would make him a cake while they were all at school and I also organized some surprise banners and party bags for the bears. I cooked up a party food tea and rummaged in my party box for some Charlie and lola party plates, cups and napkins!

We played party games and had a picnic party meal! Everyone had so much fun!

This was our party picnic!

Little "R" and her bear having dinner!

Blanket Bear the Birthday boy!

Not a great picture of a rather grubby Kenzie and his Bear friends!

Little "E"

"W" enjoying his food!

Time to blow out the candles... the camera is whiting everything out this week grrrrrrrrrrrr

Time for some party games! Musical Bumps!

Brendan helping Little "R" with musical statues really held her own against "W"!

We played Pass the Pumpkin! We could not find our pass the parcel toy!

It was such a sweet afternoon and made even better as it came from following a child's interests!

A SNIPPET OF OUR WEEK!

So what have we been doing this week? Well we started the week at a friends Birthday party! Lots of yummy food, Pin the tail on the Donkey and Pass the parcel.

Looking at our letters, numbers and shapes. We used water colour pencils and the children used a paintbrush to paint water over the things I drew and the marks they made. This turned the pencil to paint!

Kenzie had a day off sick (not really that sick as it turned out!) and we found his Christmas doodle book to have a little draw in together.

We practiced telling the time.

Cooked cakes to sell at school to raise money for "Children in need".

Couloured in some Pudsy Bear pictures!

We decorated our cakes for the cake sale!

Notice how Minecraft has been sneaking in to Brendan's cake decorating!

The boys have been looking through then endless catalogs that fall through the letter box now that we are getting close to Christmas. I love that Kenzie still sees the beauty in good quality wooden toys and found several that he would like to add to his wish list!

Brendan helped to cook his favorite meal. Chicken fajitas!

We dressed up for Children in need today!

We have built towers! Look how high little "L" can get her tower now!

We have spent a lot of time with Duplo. Little "R" started to make her plane fly and gave it noises. Telling me the dog was flying!

We practiced our shape sorting!

We played with bottle top numbers! I helped Little "L" line them up in sequence.

Then we counted them. She is doing so well.

I am sorry about the poor quality photos. I used the ones off my mobile and for some reason it has shrunk most of the photos? VERY annoying!

We also made Poppy paintings which i know i took photos of but i think the phone might have lost them! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
