ROLE PLAY HAIR DRESSING

What started as a game or Dr's with the Dr's kit, suddenly took a turn in a new direction. A completely child initiated  direction. Little "R" started to try and cut little "L"s hair with the plastic scissors and asked for a brush. She pulled out a chair and instructed her to sit down!
Little "L" was very happy to follow these instructions and let little "R" brush and snip away for a good few minutes. I had a quick think and ran upstairs to grab a child's brush and comb and a couple of hair clips and a basket to pop them all in.
Having boys, and not being a very girly girly myself, I did not really have much to offer to extend this interest but found what I could and took it to the girls to see what they would do with the  few treasure I had to offer them.

We practised using the clips. These are a bit tricky and require strong fingers and a pincer grip movement. After some persistence and the use of 2 hands, they managed to get a couple of clips in to the hair.

I showed them how to put pony tails and they enjoyed taking them out again!

We swapped places happily and took turns to be the hair dresser.

We even found deely boppers!!

I have popped to the pound shop over the weekend and filled the basket with lots of new and exciting clips, extensions and combs so that they can really get carried away when they play with it this week!

EASTER ACTIVITIES

I thought I would share with you some of the Easter Themed play that has taken place in my setting this week.
I offered baskets, bunny ears and Easter eggs...... they did the rest!

I offered up paint and Easter sponge painting tools......... They did the rest!

I offered stickers about the Easter story and plain paper, and they asked the questions......... which I answered as best I could!

I gave them glue, grass and chicks....... and they made nests!

EASTER BUNNY NURSES!

Last week I had a couple of requests for the Dr's kit to come out. I also brought the Easter box out of the loft and this led to a rather interesting mix!

Buddy Bear dressed up as an Easter egg but he had sadly broken his leg. This cute cast and crutches set came from Build a Bear this weekend. We had £15 of vouchers to spend and Kenzie chose this. Great choice!

Buddy has had wonderful caring nurses this week.

These Easter Bunny Dr's work two jobs. When they were not looking after Buddy, they were making sure all the eggs were ready for delivering!

Then right back to their nursing!

They even took him out for a little walk. Change of scenery, and sat a while together..... just watching the world going by.
