WORKING WITH PARENTS - BUSY BAGS TO SHARE

Something I have been meaning to do for a very long time!
Some "Busy Bags" for the children to take home and borrow, filled with fun stories and activities. Several of them went home tonight.... fingers crossed they are enjoyed!

This is a really good way to help support children's next steps. You could make up a bag for an individual child to borrow with their next steps as the focus. It would be a great way to involve parents in the children's learning and interests.

Ideas to include are:

  • Fiction books
  • Non- fiction books
  • Sticker books
  • "How to draw" books
  • Puppets
  • Craft packs
  • Stickers, paper and pencils, stencils
  • Story cd
  • Masks

Simple "Skill" bags could include:
  • Threading
  • Counting
  • Turn taking game
  • cutting and sticking
  • Dry wipe board and pens for mark making
  • Matching cards
  • Pattern building
  • Textures/ sensory
  • Letters/ Alphabet
You could get super creative with these bags! Check out the local car boot sales and rummage sales for cheap items to include.
