HOW TO MAKE - A SWORD

We made swords for St Georges Day today! Really simple to make and lots of fun to play with!

You will need:
  • Thick cardboard
  • Tin foil
  • Glue
  • Glittery stickers/ gems
  • string or yarn
  • lolly pop sticks
  • Paint

Cut out a cardboard sword shape and cover the blade in glue and then tin foil.
Use paint to decorate the handle. Add a lolly pop stick to each side of the handle vertically and bind it with the string or yarn. This will make the handle stronger and less likely to bend during play.

Add gems and sparkly stickers to personalise your sword and then have fun dueling!!

Today's play, meets the following EYFS Prime and specific areas:
  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
  • Expressive Art and Design
