Pippa's Childminding Service!

I thought I would include a little about my business her for all interested, as I have started to link this blog to my advertising. All full pictures of children on this blog are of my own sons, not of those in my care. I will respect the privacy of all children in my care by not showing any photos that include their faces and will refer to them by a letter and not their name.

I have been looking after children since completing my NNEB (level 3) Qualification in 1995. Since that time I have been a private Nanny, where I spent 5 wonderful years. I then had my first child and became a childminder, so I could stay home with my child and still do the job i loved so much! I now have  two lovely children and have never looked back.

I am based in Oxfordshire, close to the Bucks border and with in a few miles from the M40. I am OFSTED registered with an OUTSTANDING grade!  I am a member of the TRIO network and an Enabling Network Childminder, offering support and childcare to family's who have a child with a disability.
I attend regular training events to keep up to date in all changes of childcare and to keep my approach fresh.

The children in my care enjoy a FUN and Welcoming environment! I have a mixture of styles but have been inspired by Steiner and Montessori and many of my activities and toys reflect this. Lots of Natural learning and life skills.

I believe in lots of out door play, trips to the fields and woods, bug hunting, puddle splashing, conker collecting, gardening, den making........ you name it!

We also enjoy lots of open ended and child led play, which is the very best way for a child to learn. Lots of hands on learning experiences, junk modeling, small world play, music, climbing and exploring, cooking and some visits to local toddler groups. Although i do feel it is important to socialise in these groups i also feel it is important for children to be given time to develop their play and become totally immersed in what they are doing, so we limit our time in Toddler groups to allow time for this type of play!

We have a family dog, a very soppy and friendly boy who thinks he is one of the children, 2 beautiful chickens, Gertrude and Matilda, who entertain the children for hours!! Collecting eggs, feeding them weeds and bugs! We also have a fish called Nibbler!
